Custom Wording on Certificates of Insurance

In certain situations, you may need to add custom wording to your Certificate of Insurance.

For example: financing or leasing institutions often require that your lease/contract number and leased equipment is explicitly on your policy, and some rental houses require that you add additional specific wording in the ‘Description of Operations’ section on a COI.

How to Customize the Wording on Your COI

To request a custom COI with special wording, follow these steps:

  Subject: Custom COI
  Include:
  Your policy number and name
  Rental House or Certificate Holder Information (Name, Address, Email, Contact Name)
  Specific wording required in the ‘Description of Operations’ section

Alternatively, you can forward the email you received from the rental house or financial institution that includes the above information. This can help ensure accuracy and expedite the process.
