Scheduled and Unscheduled Equipment
When you apply for owned equipment coverage online at InsureMyequipment.com, you’ll be asked if you own any items valued over $2,000. This distinction is important because your policy classifies equipment individually valued above $2,000 as “Scheduled” and equipment valued below $2,000 as “Unscheduled”. There is no cost difference between the two categories, but for coverage to apply to higher-valued items, you must list those items on your policy, including the make, model, replacement cost, and serial number if applicable.
Breaking Down Your Equipment Limit
- Overall Limit: The total value of all the gear you own.
- Scheduled Sub-Limit: The portion of your overall limit allocated to items valued over $2,000.
- Unscheduled Sub-Limit: The remaining portion of your overall limit that can be used for items valued below $2,000.
Important Guidelines
- Listing New High-Value Items:
- When you acquire a new item valued over $2,000, you have up to 90 days to list it on your policy. After this period, coverage for that item will be excluded.
- Proceeding Without Scheduling Gear:
- If you don’t have your equipment details handy and want to proceed with your quote, simply add one placeholder item to your application valued above $2,000. This allows you to advance to purchase. You can adjust your equipment list from your dashboard after purchasing coverage.
- Unscheduled Gear:
- While you don’t need to provide a list of unscheduled gear, we recommend keeping one for your records. This will make it easier to access your equipment list if you need to file a claim.
